Anaglyph modeling in Blender

Written instructions:

3D-modeling on a 2D-screen can be challenging because of the lack of depth perception. When your scenes get complicated, it might be useful to try stereoscopic modeling. The easiest and cheapest way to try it is the anaglyph mode, for which you simply need a pair of traditional red and cyan glasses.

Here’s how you can model in anaglyph mode in Cycles:

Let’s begin by switching to Cycles.

Then we’ll go to the render layers and enable “views”.

Now we can see an anaglyphic image by entering the camera view with numpad zero.

While we are editing the object and want to view it from several angles, we can lock the camera to the view here in the properties panel.

Now you can simply wear your anaglyph glasses and enjoy a better sense of depth.
